Day 4 Update
From Chad & Alan (UPDATED AT 4:44 PM Mountain Time):
The Werewolves are in great spirits and racing strong! They arrived into TA6 (CP13) around 9:00am this morning. After some rest, some scrambled eggs (thanks to the support crew member from another team who placed the order for the Werewolves after running in to them 2 miles out while driving to TA6) and a couple of quick naps they left on bikes around noon to head to CP14. TomTom and Paul studied the maps to work out strategy, worked on sore feet, and Ashley bounced around just generally being herself.
Their goal is to make it to the end of the next two bike legs tonight, rest at TA8, which is unassisted and then attack the next trek across the mountain at sun up. They are expecting the trek to take quite a while.
One story heard in TA6 this morning was from team #34, Too Much Fun Club from UK. Apparently they ran out of food on the previous trek, which took around 24 hours. The Werewolves came along and gave them some of the little food they had left, basically rescuing them. Too Much Fun Club team members were so moved by their sportsmanship that they were becoming emotional while telling the story. However, the Werewolves also ran out of food just before the bike drop but thankfully had enough food there to get them back on track and to TA6! Too Much Fun Club continued to show their gratefulness by asking to ride out with the Werewolves from TA6, but weren’t quite ready to leave when the Werewolves were but I’m sure they will meet up again on the course.
Way to go, Werewolves! Another awesome example of Texas Adventure Racing hospitality!
Continued Good Luck to Werewolves, Too Much Fun Club, and the rest of the racers!
- Chad & Alan (Werewolves Support crew via phone to Chris)
NOTE: Paul asked us to send a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Benjamin, his son, who turned 6 yesterday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BENJAMIN!

Class act! We are so proud to be part of your fan base. As a Texan transplanted in the land of the “dimpled chads”, it is not surprising that a crew from the Lone Star state would represent themselves in such a manner. Keep motivated and continue with that “esprit de corps” that makes you a team to be envied. The Lujan Crew, out.

To Tom and his team. It’s been amazing to watch your progress along the course. Scarey to hear about you needing to be rescued and your experiences on that raging river. WOW.
Tom; Mom and Dad said they are thinking about you and all is well in NC. They can’t wait to hear all your stories.
Special thanks to your crew Chad and Alan. We appreciate you taking care of the team and keeping us informed with your blogs and pictures. You’re doing a great job.
Be safe and have fun.
Sister Mary Pat (no; not a nun; just Tom’s sister)

Just got onto the website and have been reading like crazy and checking out the crazy adventures and videos.
You guys rock!
Ash, are you putting on enough sunscreen on, babe, you looked a lil red in one of the videos but dunno if that was bc of the lighting, jaja. And Tom in his diaper surely looked like one sexy beast, jajaja.
Well, thinking of you guys and wishing you the best of luck. Please stay safe : )
And to the support crew, you guys rock as well. This website is neato and love the music you guys put in the videos, nice editing touches.
