The Werewolves made it back to TA1 (the same place as the race start) and are in high spirits.  They had a quick transition, replenished food and water, packed the Leg 2 required gear and made it out quickly.  They definitely got to play in the snow as they came back with snow in their packs; heard rumors of a snow slide down one of the slopes; support crew restless as we wish we could be racing, too,

Werewolves tid-bit 1: They love peanut butter and jelly bagels.

We’re packing up TA1, going to replenish some supplies and then head off to TA2.  Word from race staff is that Leg 2 is 42 miles.  Apparently the intention was to make the first night a mandatory dark zone for all teams and then have a second mass race start on Tuesday.  Nike, Merrel and others are threatening to disrupt those plans.  If they are successful then all teams making it to the kayak duckies section tonight will get decent lead on the teams forced to stop for the night.  Time will tell, thought it is unlikely that they will make it to CP8 (river-boarding) as there is a 5:30 dark zone there as well and the duckies section is about 25 miles, even with the river flowing at 10MPH it would take 2+ hours so they will get a bit of a jump on the teams in the morning, but it will likely be only a couple of hours.
